Yves Rees

Dr Yves Rees is a writer and historian living on unceded Wurundjeri land in Melbourne, Australia. At present, Yves is a Lecturer in History at La Trobe University and co-host of the history podcast Archive Fever. Yves was awarded the 2020 Calibre Essay Prize for their essay ‘Reading the Mess Backwards’, and their memoir All About Yves: Notes from a Transition will be published by Allen and Unwin in 2022. Yves has published widely across Australian gender, transnational and economic history, and their monograph Travelling to Tomorrow: Australian Women and the American Century is contracted to Nebraska University Press. Yves also writes on transgender identity and politics. Yves is a regular contributor to ABC radio and The Conversation, and their work has appeared in the Australian Book Review, Overland, Guardian Australia, Inside Story and Archer Magazine.
