Garvia Bailey

Garvia Bailey is co-founder of Media Girlfriends. She has championed the work of Black creators and community builders throughout her two-decade career in media, as a producer, host and columnist for the CBC, Antica Productions, award-winning multi-media company Pop Sandbox, making tech-enhanced historical tours of neighborhoods across Ontario. Garvia is proud of the recent work she has done TOLive’s Insights Discussion Series in conjunction with the Mandela: Struggle for Freedom Exhibition, collaborations with BAND (Black Artists Network in Dialogue), The Toronto Public Library, TIFF, Operation Black Vote and others. She is a co-founder of jazzcast.ca an online jazz streaming service that amplifies the roots of jazz as an African-American-derived artform through music, interviews and special programming.
